Antony Gormley
Today I had a lecture by, and lunch with, the sculptor Antony Gormley (famous for the Angel of the North, amongst other things). He is genuinely one of the most intelligent, humble and intimate artists I’ve ever had the luck to meet. What a guy.

As long as the snow doesn't cancel my flight...
I’m going to Florence tomorrow for some Italian Renaissance art history; plenty of photos I can imagine.
For any Londoners:
The new Lucian Freud Portraits exhibition at the NPG is absolutely stunning. Even having seen a large proportion of the paintings before (whether in person or just books), they seem completely different; incredibly well curated and definitely worth a visit.

I received a number of duplicate prints
of my photos from Snappy Snaps today, which means, seeing as they won’t need to go into coursework, that I have a few spare. I intend to paint on them like the series posted earlier in the month, but these are square format and red scale. Would anybody be interested in buying one for a relatively small amount? I’m happy to post them anywhere if I’m given the money, but...

Haha unfortunately I’m not the first person to have used this idea: Gerhard Richter has a number of photographs smeared with oil paint (well its not acrylic, but whatever) from, i think, the late 90s/early 2000s. He may not have been the first person to have done it either, but I couldn’t say otherwise. BUT I must say that using acrylic is much easier as I’ve found oil...

It’s a fantastic city and I’d recommend it to anyone, I always find it inspiring even having lived here my whole life, brilliant. I’m hoping to go and draw/paint in Paris for a few days this summer, I haven’t been since I was a small child haha. I’m flattered that you like my art, tumblr rarely gives me much appreciation :P
